In the village of Val (Var), the inhabitants are very flattered to have George Clooney as a neighbor.
The American actor acquired a vineyard in the neighboring town of Brignoles in 2021, not far from Miraval where his colleague Brad Pitt bought a castle.
And it was precisely that year, on October 4, that the region was hit by floods and mudslides that devastated three housing estates.
Just owner of his domain in Provence, George Clooney had then donated 20,000 euros to the town, making the mayor promise not to say anything.
The secret was well kept until the ceremony of vows at the beginning of the year, where Jérémy Giuliano, first magistrate of the Val, whispered to his constituents that he had "received a message the day after the floods indicating that George Clooney wanted to contact us.
This resulted in this donation of 20,000 euros which was used to house the victims for six months so that they had time to clean their house and get back in working order.

The village of Val had to pay more than 190,000 euros to repair the damage from the storms, before being eligible for the state of natural disaster.
Today, everything is better at Le Val but the news is talking.
