Moderator visits family in Baden-Württemberg and despairs of "village problem that one likes to forget"

When visiting his hometown of Tübingen, Donnie O'Sullivan realizes that the clocks tick differently here than in busy Berlin.

Presenter Donnie O'Sullivan was born in Dublin and grew up in a small suburb of Tübingen.

Today he lives in Berlin and is annoyed by a typical village problem when he comes home.

Hirschau/Tübingen - Anyone who has ever lived in a village or small town knows the problem: you want to go into town quickly, but the local bus schedule prevents you from being spontaneous.

Berlin-based presenter, editor and television writer Donnie O'Sullivan recently had to deal with the typical village problem, reports BW24.

In a video on TikTok, O'Sullivan films a bus stop sign in Hirschau, a small suburb of Tübingen with around 3,000 inhabitants.

Apparently he was about to drive into town.

As he explains, he arrived at the bus stop at 3:43 p.m.

A look at the sign shows that the next bus will not come again until 4:12 p.m.

"Yes, that's also a village problem that you tend to forget quickly when you live in a big city and think village life is awesome - and then forget that that's how the buses drive," he says.

Many TikTok users cannot understand the moderator's anger about the bus timetable

A pan to the waiting area of ​​the bus stop in Hirschau, which seems to have been swept empty, shows: "Of course, all the professionals were here at 3:42 p.m.." The Berliner by choice is apparently the only one who arrived in the waiting area two minutes late - "because I thought , there will be a bus soon.”

O'Sullivan apparently hit a nerve with his video.

It has already been viewed more than 84,600 times on TikTok (as of January 13, 2 p.m.).

Some TikTok users can't quite understand O'Sullivan's anger.

"Wait half an hour?

That's almost small-town luxury," writes one user.

"Two buses an hour?

That's not a village, is it?” Says another.

Other users can also confirm the observation.

"Village is when the bus runs three times a day and not at all on weekends and holidays," says one user.

All in all, everyone agrees that waiting 30 minutes is still acceptable.

The moderator from Berlin was lucky - other villages were far more isolated

In fact, O'Sullivan was comparatively lucky with his experience of public transport in Hirschau.

A new bus stop was built in Bretten (district of Karlsruhe), but no bus stops there.

The glass house with wooden benches and lighting cost around 10,000 euros.

The problem: A bus line that originally stopped there was relocated.

The fact that the moderator calls Hirschau a village in his TikTok video should irritate some viewers.

So it is not an independent municipality, but a district of Tübingen west of the city center.

Those whose village is far removed from the nearest town should be downright envious of Hirschau's location, from which you can be in the center of Tübingen in ten minutes by car.
