This is also reflected in the number of people moving to Germany, which reached a new high last year.

With 12,014 inhabitants, the market town of Peiting has reached a new high.

This is primarily due to the influx of people associated with the brisk building activity.

However, the increase in marriages due to the Corona-related postponements is also pleasing.

Peiting – The population has been growing steadily in recent years.

In the previous year, the statistics still showed 11,891 people, which was just below the previous high of 11,898 citizens.

This is now waste.

In 2022, the population broke the 12,000 mark for the first time.

It has been a long time since there have been so many weddings in Peiting as in the past year: a total of 73 couples said yes in front of the registrar.

Only in 2014 (76 marriages) and 2001 (74) have there been more newlyweds in this millennium.

It is also gratifying that the number of divorces has again fallen slightly to 31 compared to 34 in 2020 and 33 in 2021.

The bare numbers of the residents' registration office also reflect the violent conflicts in the world among foreign fellow citizens.

Russia's attack on Ukraine brought about a turning point for the peace order in Europe, and many Ukrainians who had to leave their homes and are worried about their relatives at home also found refuge in Peiting.

The 90 Ukrainians living in Peiting are now the third largest group among the 1,091 foreign citizens.

Just ahead of the 75 refugees from Afghanistan.

As in previous years, the Romanians are the most strongly represented with 111 women and men.

Followed by the Turks, 93 of whom are at home in Peiting.

The fifth place is occupied by 68 citizens from Kosovo.

Close behind are Poles (67), Austrians (56), Croats (55), Syrians (54), Italians (53) and Hungarians (50).

All in all, people with foreign citizenship are spread across 69 countries on all continents.

The oldest resident is 102 years old

The average age of the citizens living in Peiting remains unchanged at 45.4 years.

The oldest woman is already 102 years old, the oldest man 99. A total of 95 women and men are 91 years and older.

However, it is not possible to determine exactly how many people from Peiting fall into this age group.

When care is required, the “place of residence” is changed if there is currently no free place in Peiting.

It's similar with the moves to Peiting, because there's a vacancy there right now.

The largest group is born in 1964 with 123 women and 119 men.

85 babies from Peiting saw the light of day in 2022, according to the numbers now published by the residents' registration office.

Two of them were born in the market town and are therefore real Peitingers.

101 children were born in 2021.

In 2020 there were 95 and in 2019 over 112.

The deaths have leveled off at 172 people at a “high level”.

167 people from Peiting were buried in 2021, in 2020 178 fellow citizens had to say goodbye forever.

Among the dead in 2022 was Deacon Georg Meier, who for many decades accompanied the deceased on their last journey and prayed the rosary for them.

With 979 newcomers, a record was set in Peiting in 2022.

They faced 811 departures.

However, the number of registrations and cancellations has always been high in Peiting, not least because of the Diakonie Herzogsägmühle and the old people's and nursing homes (moving in 2021: 725, 2020: 833 and 2019: 754; moving out in 2021: 650, 2020: 681 and 2019: 724).
