Tragic accident:
A Kfir Brigade fighter, the late Corporal Denis Zinoviev, was killed tonight (Saturday) as a result of an ammunition explosion in a living room at the Kfir Brigade's training base near Bekaot.
After his death, 18-year-old Denis Zinoviev from Petach Tikva was promoted from the rank of private to the rank of corporal.
The military police started investigating the circumstances of the incident.
At the end, the findings will be forwarded to the military attorney's office for consideration.
A preliminary investigation reveals that this is not standard ammunition that was distributed to the soldiers, but one that the soldier apparently found during training.
The ammunition was apparently collected in violation of the safety instructions and put into the living room, and yesterday it exploded.

The ammunition did not explode inside the soldier's weapon, but apparently received a blow that activated the explosive - someone may have kicked the bag while the ammunition was in it or it may have fallen.
In the incident, another fighter was seriously injured and two fighters were slightly injured.
The commander of the land arm, Colonel Tamir Yedai directed the establishment of a committee of experts headed by Lieutenant Colonel Hanoch Daova.
In addition, there will be a training curfew in the IDF and scans will take place to identify fallen soldiers, ammunition and weapons.
The training will resume with the completion of the scans and the completion of training for commanders and IDF soldiers on safety issues.
