Twenty people were killed and 24 injured today when a passenger bus collided with a truck in northern Senegal.
"The accident that occurred at the entrance of Ngon Sarr between the cities of Saint-Louis and Louga is the second major collision this month," Senegalese President Macky Sall said in a tweet on Twitter, according to Agence France-Presse.
In turn, government sources stated that 19 of the injured are in critical condition.
This accident comes eight days after another traffic accident in which 42 people died and about 80 others were injured, near the town of Kafrin in the southeast of the country, where the explosion of a passenger bus tire caused it to collide with another bus coming in the opposite direction, as the country declared three days of mourning. Passenger buses have since been banned from traveling between provinces between 11pm and 5am.
