Nahorai Benvanishti, the boy who was hit last week by a police motorcycle in Bnei Brak, was released from the hospital and celebrated his eighth birthday yesterday (Sunday) with his friends.
Nahorai received an especially warm welcome from dozens of his friends in the judo club he participates in, where he was also awarded a yellow-purple belt yesterday, which symbolizes the next rank of judoka.
"There are miracles in the world," she said to Walla!
Ora, Nahorai's mother, "They did extensive tests on him at the hospital and said he could be released. The friends congratulated him, sang to him and bought him gifts. All ages in the class were there. He was very excited."
However, the mother said that Nahorai, who was seriously injured, has not yet fully recovered from the accident.
"You can see that he is still frightened, afraid, asking a lot of questions about what happened - 'Mom, who ran me over, a policeman?'
and 'What happened to me?'. I told him what happened as far as I know."

The mother, who was summoned to the police today to give her version of the events, said that the investigator's words did not satisfy her.
"They say that Horai burst onto the road, I answered that it cannot be. Eyewitnesses and videos say otherwise. He did run, but at a green light, while the policeman ran a red light," she accused.
According to her, "The investigator said he couldn't say much. Just that you interrogate the offending police officer and that the case be transferred to the prosecutor's office. I asked why the case is not transferred to the District Attorney's Office.
He replied that everything is checked with tweezers and that the case can also be closed." Ora added and said that eyewitnesses told her that they saw the offending policeman move the motorcycle after the accident, which is prohibited by law.

The accident happened on Tuesday on Abarbanal Street in Bnei Brak, when Horai was on his way to soccer class.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene gave him treatment and evacuated him to Blinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. The police said at the time that "a police motorcycle rider who was on his way to an operational event hit a child in Bnei Brak at a crosswalk.
Traffic inspectors are on the scene and the circumstances are being investigated."
