Gusts of wind at more than 130 km/h on the coasts of Brittany and Normandy, tens of thousands of homes with electricity cut off on the Atlantic and North Sea coasts, SNCF traffic disrupted in many departments... storm Gérard has been hitting a large part of western France since Sunday evening.
It takes its name from an alphabetical list drawn up in advance by the French, Belgian, Luxembourg, Portuguese and Spanish weather services.
Gérard loses intensity this Monday afternoon, but another winter depression, called Fien, should arrive overnight from Monday to Tuesday.
