The Yeti Airlines flight crashed in the city of Pokhara and has so far left at least 68 dead, including an Argentine.

A passenger on the

Yeti Airlines flight

that crashed this Sunday in Nepal

recorded the moment of the accident from above the plane

in a video he posted on Facebook.

The ATR 72 twin-engine plane from Kathmandu -in which 72 people

were traveling- crashed shortly before landing in Pokhara, one of the main tourist destinations in

the Himalayan country.

At least 68 passengers were killed, including

 57-year-old Argentine Jannet Palavecino,

who was a mountaineerer and ran a hotel her family had founded in the capital Neuquén.

The video showing the accident

The video, which is circulating on social networks, was attributed by the Indian media to Sonu Jaiswal (35 years old), one of the five citizens of that country who died in the tragedy.

The first images of the recording

show the passengers sitting inside the plane and a view of the city from the window,

while the aircraft was already flying at low altitude in preparation for the landing maneuver.

Suddenly

there is an explosion

, confusing scenes appear and finally

the fire that invaded the plane is seen.

Another video taken from the ground had captured the progress of the flight as it began to land and how it destabilized to the left before hitting the ground.

On board were five Indian passengers, all of them from Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh).

Apparently one of them, Sonu Jaiswal, was doing a Facebook Live shortly before the flight crashed.

He is one of the deceased.

The same video is found on his Facebook account.

Abhishek Pratap Shah, a former Nepali MP and member of the Nepali Congress Central Committee, who sent the video, told Nepali network NDTV that he received the recording from a friend and that it was recovered from the wreckage.

"It was sent by one of my friends, who received it from a member of the Police.

It is a real recording. It is the video from today, when the flight was about to land

," Shah told NDTV in an exclusive interview.

Rescue efforts are expected to continue on Monday and a search for the plane's black box is expected, which could shed light on the causes of the crash.

Pokhara is only a 25-minute flight from Kathmandu, the capital of the Himalayan nation.

The risks of air travel in Nepal

The aviation sector in Nepal has recently witnessed several plane crashes and there have been concerns about the safety and training of flight crews.

Since 2013,

the European Union has included Nepal on the flight safety blacklist.

In fact, flights from Nepal have been banned in the airspace of the European Union after the International Civil Aviation Organization pointed out serious security problems.

"This plane is the best we have in Nepal and all the major airlines have been operating the same plane

," Shah said, trying to contradict the bad reputation of the airlines in that country.

However, noting that Pokhara is a tourist hub, the Nepali authorities noted that the country needs to "improve our aviation system, our planes, the information system and also the pilots."
