The Dorfen authorities, above all Mayor Heinz Grundner, needed a thick field at the Maschkera meeting on Friday.

There was a lot of derbeck - and a lot of laughter.

Dorfen – Furious start to the fifth season: Mayor Heinz Grundner symbolically presented the key to the town hall to Susanne I., glittering regent over youth and singing, and her husband Matthias I. from the Hofkirchen Hofburg at the Maschkera on Friday evening in the Tonwerk.

In addition to slapstick and dance, there was one thing in particular: opposition.

At the start of the carnival season, the Dorfen Carnival Society managed to strike a balance between unbridled fun and political and literary criticism.

"Celebrate carnival, fun macha, heia let mas wieda really bang," said Martin Pommer, President of the KG, in the mood for the fifth season of the around 300 visitors to the Maschkera meeting.

Instead of two smaller events in the auditorium of the middle school as in the years before the pandemic, this year there was a large ceremonial session in the old locksmith's shop on the Meindl site.

"The Dorfener fools finally want great days again after a two-year break," said Pommer, pleased about the large number of visitors.

The Narrhalla march sounded, the guard moved in.

In her entourage are the hereditary prince couple Tamara Stehr, nicknamed the "dancing pearl" and Enzo Damerau, the keeper of the (golf) cell phone cap, with the ladies-in-waiting and court jester.

The part of the show began: The Dorfener Infanten put on a fast waltz, the Funkenmariechen jerked their legs up in the guard march, and the unicyclists turned their laps on the stage full of power.

In between there is always a medley of marches and fanfares.

Pommer and Mathias Pichlmeier, 2nd President of the KG, moderated casually.

Exuberant atmosphere and interludes full of enthusiasm - the audience was enthusiastic.

Then came the crowning glory.

The Dorfener Royals presented themselves in their royal role.

Fun can be serious business at times, if only because fools are known to tell the truth.

In any case, Susanne and Matthias, whose real last name is Neumayer, spoke from the heart of almost everyone in Dorfen when they made the diagnosis: Isenstadt was ill and was on the verge of a gridlock.

"Since de Bruck was torn, the drivers have been really scared!

And I said so impudently: Since then, Dorfa has been paraplegic!”

Following the tradition of the carnival, the foolish regents of the fifth season read the riot act to the authorities in Dorfen.

"The citizen comes before the town hall scho wia the purest sleep laboratory." On the one hand, there is the city council, which urgently needs an anti-inertia cure, which only discusses and lacks the energy, a lame troupe.

The fish, however, stinks from the head, says Susanne Neumayer.

What was meant was Mayor Heinz Grundner.

"When it comes to railway expansion and bridge construction, whether there is a traffic jam, whether there is a backlog of measures - he doesn't push, he just watches." Crackdown is not his thing, instead he sits out problems and likes to pass the buck to the higher authorities and instances.

But: "If eahm d'Frank-Mayer z'vui has a say, then he'll explode, no bet'," the highnesses referred to the culture of debate in the city council, where the Green politician with tears in her eyes only held the meeting before Christmas had left (we reported).

The town hall would be turned inside out, the fools promised: "Politics redefined - villages revolutionized!"

The mayor then symbolically presented the royal couple with the key to the town hall.

"I'm taking a six-week break now and won't be back until Ash Wednesday," he said in a good mood to the badly barked Grundner.

The sparkling speech was written by Wolfgang Lanzinger.

The carnival performer once again showed himself in his prime role as an actor at the Maschkera.

Be it as an annoyed husband, in scenes from a “typical Dorfen household, which he played alongside Irmi Huber.

Or as fountain spirit Florian, where Lanzinger positioned himself between Luise Kuliga and Sabine Lenffer, who gave the bell spirits of Maria Dorfen and the market church.

Particulate matter, the energy crisis and of course the traffic jams made fun of the trio.

They made fun of the foreigner Sven Krage, the 3rd mayor of the city: "Quick speaker and price." Or they mocked ÜWG city councilor Josef Jung, who learned new swear words every day in his insurance agency right next to Wesner Tor.

In any case, Grundner could not play the leading role in the open-air spectacle "Faust in Dorfen", the bell spirits agreed.

Finally, at the end of the tragedy, Gretchen says: "Heinrich, I dread you." mhe
