The Iranian ambassador to Germany was again summoned to Berlin on Monday after a wave of executions, including on Saturday January 14 that of an Iranian-British, said a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry.

This is the second time in eight days that the German Foreign Ministry has summoned the Iranian ambassador: Monday, January 9, it was already the case to protest against the recent execution of two men in connection with the demonstrations triggered by the death of Mahsa Amini.
A veteran of the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988), Alireza Akbari was notably Deputy Minister of Defense for Foreign Affairs, head of a unit in a ministerial research center and adviser to the Commander of the Navy, according to the official Irna agency.
He was arrested between March 2019 and March 2020, according to Irna.

Iran has been rocked by protests that erupted after the September 16 death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd, after her arrest for an alleged breach of the country's women's dress code.

Four of them were executed.
