In October, Meret Fahrit Akin fired fatal shots in the southern part of Nuremberg.

The police are looking intensively for the perpetrator – and expanding the means.

Nuremberg – The dangerous and urgent suspect Meret Fahrit Akin is still on the run.

He is said to have shot at two people in the evening hours of October 24 in the south of Nuremberg.

Both then had to be taken to a clinic with serious injuries, where one victim succumbed to his injuries.

Since then, the police have been searching intensively for Akin – so far without success.

Urgent suspect and dangerous: Akin continued to flee after fatal shots

The fatal shots for a man came on Landgrabenstraße in Nuremberg.

The urgent suspicion was quickly directed against Meret Fahrit Akin and an arrest warrant was issued.

Since the previous search measures have not yet led to the arrest of the fugitive, the police in Central Franconia called on the population to help on January 13th.

There is now 10,000 euros as a reward for information that leads to the capture of Akin.

The police warn, however, that the man could be armed.

Mert Fahri Akin was identified as the perpetrator - he fired fatal shots in the south of Nuremberg at the end of October, another person was seriously injured.

The police point out that the reward is only intended for private individuals and that public officials "whose professional duty includes the prosecution of criminal acts" are not entitled to the 10,000 euros.

In addition, "the award and distribution of the reward will be decided without legal recourse," according to the police press release.

The police also said that the case and the search for Meret Fahrit Akin will be the subject of the next edition of the program "Aktenzeichen XY ... Unsolved".

Broadcast is on Wednesday, January 18 at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF.

The permanent criminal service of the Central Franconia police takes tips around the clock on the telephone number (09 11) 21 12 33 33, as well as at any other police station.

Once again, the police expressly warn "to approach Mert Fahri AKIN independently - he is considered dangerous and could be armed!"
