Unavailable for days: acquaintance informed the police

An acquaintance had alerted the police because he had not been able to reach the 76-year-old from Munich for days.

The officers made their way to the apartment in an apartment building on Francesstrasse with several stripes.

There they found the body, which must have been lying there for several days.

There were indications that the man was deliberately killed.

"There was something to be seen that was rather obvious," reveals a spokesman for the Munich police.

It happens a few times a month that the dead lie undetected in their apartments for a longer period of time.

The Turkish citizen has lived in Munich for years

But this case is different.

So far, the police have not released any information on the exact cause of death or other reasons.

The corpse is now being autopsied in the forensic medicine department.

There were no signs of a break-in, the apartment door was not locked with a lot of effort, but was pulled shut, reports the police spokesman.

The dead man is a Turkish citizen who was born in Turkey and has lived in Munich for several years.

He worked as a craftsman in the construction industry, but was already retired.
