Every horse is different, but in some behaviors many are similar.

You can tell if your horse likes you by three signs.

Anyone who buys a horse also buys a lot of responsibility.

Caring for a horse takes a lot of time and is not cheap.

But the effort is worth it, because once the horse and owner get closer, a lifelong, close bond can develop between the two.

The horse then makes it clear with its body language that it loves its owner.

Certain signs can be observed again and again.

Similar to cats and dogs, horses have their own body language.

They can use them to communicate with people and show them when they feel good and when they are uncomfortable.

Of course, people don't always understand these signs right away.

It is therefore worth observing your own animal very closely.

If you are still in the process of building a relationship with your horse, the time invested plays an important role.

Spend as much time with the horse as possible.

This can also mean, for example, that you are in the paddock with your horse without training with him.

Similar to interpersonal relationships, there doesn't always have to be an action on the agenda - just being together and sharing everyday life with each other welds together just as much.

Horse Love: 3 Signs That Show Your Horse Is Affected

After a period of acclimatization with your horse, you can tell from his body language whether the affection is mutual.

Three signs your horse will show you that he likes you are:

  • 1. Seeking closeness: If the horse willingly approaches you when you are spending time together, that is a very good sign.

Animals only seek out people they trust and like.

By the way, that doesn't have to mean that they seek physical contact.

It's enough if the horses just stay near you without being intrusive.

  • 2. Relaxation: Similar to humans, horses are relaxed when they are with people they like.

The animals then show this, for example, by lifting a hind leg in the air or letting their lower lip hang relaxed.

  • 3. Relaxed grooming: If the animal enjoys grooming, it will also trust you.

It can happen that the horse even lovingly shows you where it would like to be brushed.

Sometimes the animals also carefully nibble on their owners while cleaning.

This is by no means malicious, but shows the affection of the animal.

Horses also clearly show their owners how they are feeling at the moment and whether they appreciate or rather reject their counterpart.

If you know how to read the signs correctly, you understand your horse better and can respond better to its needs.
