Hospitalized, has Eric Ciotti's mother benefited from unjustified social security coverage for 18 years?

Eric Ciotti's mother should be hospitalized in an establishment where the cost of her accommodation should not be reimbursed

It's one of his hobbies: social security fraud.

But it is this time, Éric Ciotti is at the heart of a new investigation by Mediapart, which questions the living conditions of his mother, Anny Ciotti, hospitalized since 2004 in an establishment in the Alpes-Maritimes which does not accommodate patients usually only a few months at most.

According to the newspaper, this choice of accommodation would have allowed the family of the president of the Republicans to save more than 500,000 euros.

Since a stroke, Anny Ciotti has been paralyzed.

She has been hospitalized since 2004 at the Jean-Chanton center, a unit of the Vésubie hospitals in Roquebillière, in follow-up and rehabilitation care.

In this service, recalls Mediapart, the care is entirely provided by Social Security, except for a hospital package which can be reimbursed by the mutual.

A question of money?

But if this situation raises questions, it is because this type of care is normally limited to a few weeks or months, no more.

So why has Anny Ciotti been hospitalized there for more than 18 years?

Mediapart specifies that there is a service more suited to long-term care at Nice hospital, but that in this case Social Security does not take into account accommodation costs or dependency costs.

According to calculations by Mediapart, hosting Anny Ciotti where she lives today would have allowed her family to save more than 526,000 euros.

For the taxpayer, the bill, borne by the Primary Health Insurance Fund of the Alpes-Maritimes, would reach 900,000 to 1.2 million euros.

Questioned by Mediapart, Éric Ciotti, who became president of the Republicans in mid-December, did not answer.

The newspaper, however, met his father.

“Some people say I don't pay.

But I pay!

he assured.

And to add: “Eric, he has never spent a penny.
