Iranian police seized about two tons and 846 kg of various types of drugs in Sistan and Baluchistan province, southeast of the country.
The IRNA news agency quoted the commander of the Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General Muhammad Qanbari, as saying in a statement today: “The Iranian police forces managed to seize approximately two tons and 846 kg of opium and narcotic hashish in the north and south of this province located in the southeast of the country.” The arrest of 4 smugglers, the elimination of 3 drug trafficking gangs, and the confiscation of large quantities of ammunition.
Qanbari added that the Internal Security Forces will spare no effort in the context of combating drug trafficking in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
The Iranian security forces continue to combat drug smuggling operations, as they continuously announce successful operations and the seizure of large quantities of them.
