The Iranian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the British intelligence spy who was executed, Ali Reza Akbari, did not hold the position of Deputy Minister of Defense at any point in the history of this ministry.
The ministry said in a statement today that Akbari had served in 2002 as head of the Office of Defense Studies, when he was retired, but later he gave up this record and became involved in treasonous operations against the country and the Iranian people.
The media center of the Iranian judiciary announced the day before yesterday that Ali Reza Akbari had been executed, after being convicted of spying for Britain.
