Transport Minister Miri Regev today (Monday) praised the efficiency of public transport routes as part of the fight against traffic jams.
This, after just two weeks ago she threatened to cancel the public transportation routes promoted by her predecessor in the position of Merav Michaeli, on Route 1, in Ayalon and on the coastal road.
"Bus buses are one of the solutions to traffic jams, which we will advance alongside a sea shuttle from Haifa to Herzliya," said Regev at an event to mark the start of the run-up trips on the Jerusalem light rail line. .

Two weeks ago, the day after she returned to the Ministry of Transportation, Regev ordered the head of the Public Transportation Authority to re-examine the need for these lanes on Route 1, in Ayalon and the coastal road.
"Getting stuck in traffic and seeing an empty public transportation route is not in my school. If the route is not used by enough buses, money should be added to have more, or cancel it," said Regev.
"I will advance the reforms I started. We must improve the interface with citizens and connect the State of Israel with trains, from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat," added Regev.
"Traffic jams are a troubling issue, they waste time and hurt the economy. There are no magic solutions for this. In order for people to give up their private cars, they must have better public transportation."
