The Versailles prosecutor's office has requested the referral to an Assize Court of a police officer, prosecuted for having "
voluntarily killed
" Olivio Gomes in Poissy in October 2020 during a check, AFP learned from a source on Monday. close to the file.
It is now up to the investigating judge in charge of the case to order his dismissal or not.
On the night of October 16 to 17, 2020, the official of the Paris night BAC, who faces a trial before an assize court – extremely rare in this type of case – is accused of having killed the motorist of 28 years after having shadowed him from the capital, and down to his home, in the Beauregard estate in Poissy (Yvelines).
"Erratic maneuvers"
Olivio Gomes' car had been spotted earlier by the official, 29 years old at the time of the events, and two of his colleagues from the BAC, after "
erratic maneuvers
" on the Paris ring road.
On board, Olivio Gomes, the driver and two passengers, aged 29 and 33, all from Yvelines.
For several kilometers, the police followed the car on the ring road then on the A13, without being noticed while a first version of the police evoked a refusal to comply.

According to surveillance videos, the police reported themselves to Olivio Gomes' vehicle 15 km further, at the level of the town of Chesnay (Yvelines).
The driver, without a license and under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, then immobilized his car in Poissy, below his residence.
No speeding is signaled on the route and the car does not accelerate.
His version of the facts quickly disputed
According to the version of the facts presented by the policeman, the latter, who had returned to the Parisian BAC a month before, opened fire on the vehicle when it, arrived in Poissy, restarted and ran over him.
The car crashed a few meters away.
His version was quickly called into question by the investigation, the elements of which did not show that the car had driven into the policeman.
Less than a week after the events, the shooter was indicted for "
intentional homicide
".
He was placed under judicial supervision and continues to work for the national police, but not on the public highway and without carrying a weapon.
Contacted Monday by AFP, the lawyer for the family of Olivio Gomes did not wish to comment on the case.
