According to the victim, about 7 or 8 boys were involved in his attack. Parents and students at the suspects' schools are expected to demonstrate at the gates of the institutions demanding that the violence in the area be addressed. "There's no way they're going back to playing next to our children during recess," said a worried mother. "I'm not leaving my son there if that's what the high school chooses to do"

One suspect in the attack on soldier Orian Banyan in a garden in north Tel Aviv is in custody, out of about seven or eight involved according to the victim.

Another suspect was released today (Monday) to house arrest.

Parents and students at the suspect's school are not satisfied with the police treatment, and will demonstrate tomorrow at the gate of the institution demanding a deep solution to the violence in the area.

The incident took place last Saturday, when Banyan tried to break up a fight between boys in the Ramat Aviv 3 neighborhood.

After he left the place, he was caught by masked boys who arrived on electric bikes, beat him and sprayed him with tear gas.

According to him, the attackers were not satisfied with that, they continued and electrocuted him with a shocker until he fell to the floor, beat him - and cut his head from side to side with a Japanese knife.

Banyan was moderately injured and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Out of those suspicious boys, a total of five were interrogated.

One of them, 15 years old, was arrested on Saturday and released today to house arrest.

Another one, 14 years old, was arrested yesterday and his detention was extended until Wednesday.

Both study at the "Alliance" high school in the city, and some of them are even apprentices in the scout tribe in the neighborhood - but since then they have been removed from all the frameworks.

Residents said that among the attackers were also students at the "Tikhont" high school, but the Ministry of Education does not recognize the claim.

Parents of students at the school opened a WhatsApp group following the incident.

In the short time since its establishment, about 1,500 concerned residents have joined.

"There's no way these kids are going back to playing next to our kids during breaks - I'm not leaving my son there if that's what the high school chooses to do," wrote one of the mothers.

"We must demand severe punishment and the immediate removal of the criminals who scalped a boy as part of a planned lynching. And in general, demand deep-rooted and serious treatment of the spreading violence."

The decision that was made is to demonstrate in front of the institutions at the start of the school day, tomorrow at the Alliance and on Wednesday at the high school, under the title "Protesting against the violence - demanding solutions".

The name of the group, "The management is silent - the parents are not", expresses the dissatisfaction that the parents feel with the schools' handling of the issue.

Alliance director Yaniv Bacher wrote to the parents that "the Alliance community is shocked by the unusual incident of violence", and detailed the steps taken following it: a brainstorming session, a conversation with the teaching staff and education lessons that will be held in the classrooms on violence.

Part of the parents' anger stems from the section that follows: "In an age where the concept of 'rights' is being undermined, it is important to note that as an educational institution we respect the rights of all our students: those who offend and those who are harmed. Please, maintain individual modesty on social media as well."

The students at the school joined the parents with a petition against the return of the attackers to the classroom.

"Blow the violence out of our school!" demanded the creators of the protest, and called on their friends to join the parents' demonstration tomorrow.

"We knew these kids were criminals, but we didn't think it was that bad. It's scary," she said to Walla!

The anger was met with a response from Mayor Ron Huldai as well.

In a letter to the residents, he wrote that he instructed to operate a night patrol in the northern neighborhoods of the city, which would consist of youth guides who would walk around public gardens and parks, alongside a parent patrol who would walk around places of entertainment and help boys who need help.

He also announced that he would meet with the Boy Scouts management and discuss with them "the affairs of Tribe Aviv and Tribe C, which recently had an incident of vandalism and violence in their vicinity."
