The Government confirmed that they will cut 155,000 Potenciar Trabajo plans after an audit

2023-01-16T21:15:46.280Z

Victoria Tolosa Paz reported it after the deadline for the beneficiaries to revalidate their data. The audit arose after it was detected that some beneficiaries were buying dollars.

The Minister of Social Development,

Victoria Tolosa Paz,

announced this Monday that the Government

will terminate 154,441 people from the Empower Work plan

after knowing the results of the re-registration that they had faced after complaints of irregularities among their beneficiaries.

The data arises after the deadline for those holders of the program to revalidate their identity through biometric data ended on January 15.

"The results

have been extremely favorable

for the purpose we are pursuing: to have certainty about the people who make up the entire list of holders of Potentiar Trabajo," the minister reported at a press conference.

Tolosa Paz specified that

"1,210,571 people until yesterday have validated their identity through Renaper biometric data."

In this sense, he pointed out that "154,441 people have not carried out identity validation."

"They are subject to the suspension of the Potenciar Trabajo program as of the January liquidation,"

she confirmed.

Those beneficiaries who will be terminated for not having validated their identity will receive, as

the last settlement, 50% of the amount of the Potenciar Trabajo

corresponding to January and which will be paid on February 5.

Asked about

possible protests by social organizations

after the confirmation that social plans will be terminated, Tolosa Paz minimized the initiative.

"If there is any sector that wants to march or protest because they understand that we have not been broad enough (with the deadline to validate the data) we tell them that today there is a claim window," he said.

A window to initiate claims

On this point, the minister confirmed that the possibility is open for those who will be discharged to initiate

an administrative claim

via the Mi Argentina app.

“It may happen that there are people who have difficulties to achieve validation due to ignorance of this obligation or due to connectivity problems, or distance.

They have had difficulties and we want to leave

open the possibility that they initiate the

administrative claim, ”he reported.

However, Tolosa Paz clarified that the claims were subject to review by the Social Economy Secretariat.

An audit on Empowering Work to take power away from social organizations

Tolosa Paz, like his predecessor Juan Zabaleta and other officials in charge of the area, tries to organize employment plans that empower the main social organizations in the country.

This is a payment that

in January will exceed 30,000 pesos

per beneficiary and required constant budget increases to keep up with inflation.

Shortly after taking office, the minister had agreed with President Alberto Fernández and the Minister of Economy Sergio Massa, the freezing of registrations in Potenciar.

The following steps are what they are trying to take now: economically, as formal employment rates improve, even if they are precarious, they

seek to reduce the plans

;

At the political level, they try

to take power away from the piquetero organizations

(at least some of them) so as not to be held hostage by their protests.

The validation of data via the web was the solution proposed by the Government after serious irregularities of thousands of beneficiaries, who had bought dollars or had goods that did not meet the requirements of the program, came to light.

These data, which came from the AFIP, had been requested by Zabaleta and generated a strong controversy months ago.
