Explosive ammunition that endangered the lives of soldiers was also placed in a room next to the room of the soldier who was killed this week by a grenade explosion - according to the investigation of the fatal incident that resulted in the death of Corporal Denis Zinoviev, and as a result of which three more soldiers were injured, one of them seriously. The presence of this type of explosive ammunition in the soldiers' quarters is considered a violation strict of the safety instructions that prohibit the introduction of explosive ammunition into this area of the base.
Zinoviev, an 18-year-old resident of Petah Tikva, was killed by a grenade explosion in his room at the base in the Jordan Valley between Saturday and Sunday. The soldier's death was determined after resuscitation efforts, and the three injured were taken to Sheba Hospitals in Tel Hashomer and Hadassah Ein Kerem in Jerusalem.
The circumstances of the case are still being investigated.

After the incident, the IDF announced that the military police had opened an investigation into the circumstances of the case, and at the end of the investigation, the findings would be forwarded to the military attorney's office for examination. In addition, the commander of the ground arm, Colonel Tamir Yedai, ordered the establishment of an expert committee.
