Threat situation in Ansbach: family dispute escalates - man with machete threatens relatives and the police

A 50-year-old man triggered a threat in Ansbach on Saturday evening.

On Saturday evening, a family dispute got completely out of hand and ended with a large-scale police operation that also involved special forces.

At around 7:20 p.m., the police were notified of a family dispute in a residential building on Bahnhofstrasse.
The situation escalated there, and even special police forces had to be called in.
Threat situation in Ansbach due to "highly aggressive" man with machete
When they called 911 on Saturday night, officers were told that a 50-year-old man reportedly threatened family members with a machete.
The situation then escalated on site, according to the police press release: "When the first patrols of the Ansbach police arrived at the affected property, the highly aggressive 50-year-old also directed his massive threats against the officials."
Therefore, additional forces from the surrounding inspections were immediately called in - as well as special forces.
The area around the house was then cordoned off.
The units of the support command (USK) that had meanwhile arrived then entered the residential building and met the 50-year-old on the ground floor.

According to the police, the man was then arrested by the police special forces, where he sustained a head laceration.
She was then treated medically by the emergency services who were already there.
USK officials were not injured in the operation.
A breath alcohol test was then carried out on the man – it showed a value of more than one per thousand, the police write.
It also says: "Due to the mental state of the man, the Ansbach Police Inspectorate arranged for his temporary accommodation in a specialist clinic." The 50-year-old's wife and two other family members were in the property - they were unharmed, but were cared for by an emergency chaplain.
An investigation was launched against the man.
