At least 68 people, of the 72 traveling on the aircraft, died after the impact of the flight to Pokhara

The images recorded by an eyewitness of the accident in which 68 people lost their lives this Sunday shows how the passenger flight, bound for the Nepalese city of Pokhara, tilted sharply in the air seconds before crashing to the ground.

The failed landing is the most tragic plane crash in the Himalayan country in 30 years, according to authorities.

The Reuters news agency has been able to confirm that the exact location of the accident corresponds to Pokhara, since the buildings match the satellite images.

Additionally, the headrests seen in the video also bear the Yeti Airlines logo and the wing configuration corresponds to archival footage of the aircraft.

The Yeti Airlines ATR 72 plane, in which a total of 72 people were traveling, was trying to land in the Nepali city, about 200 kilometers from the capital, Kathmandu, where it had taken off.

It hovered near buildings in fairly favorable weather, before sharply turning onto its side.

A loud crash was then heard, followed by screams of terrified people asking for help, as the recording shows.

"The plane has been broken into pieces," explained Krishna Bhandari, a military spokesman, shortly after the accident.

The crashed plane was an ATR72 with two propeller engines, from the French-Italian manufacturer ATR, which operated the airline Yeti Airlines.

The passenger list included three babies and three other children, according to a statement from the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority.

More than 24 hours after the crash, search teams have found the plane's cockpit voice recorder and black box.

Yeti Airlines made a regular flight from Kathmandu to the tourist city of Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna mountain range, an area for pilgrims and mountaineers.

The inclement weather this Monday has made it difficult for the rescue team to track down the passengers whose whereabouts are still unknown;

so far they have recovered 68 bodies along a river gorge.
