Israeli forces on Monday (January 16th) killed a Palestinian teenager in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported.
Omar Khmour, 14, who was seriously shot in the head in the morning in the Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem, "
succumbed to his wounds
", the ministry said in a statement.
The Israeli army said it carried out an operation in the Dheisheh camp, during which "
suspects threw stones, explosive devices and Molotov cocktails at soldiers, who responded with riot dispersal means and by opening fire
.
2022 deadliest year since 2005
His death brings to 14 the number of Palestinians, civilians or members of armed groups, killed since the beginning of the year in violence involving Israeli forces or civilians in the West Bank, Palestinian territory occupied by Israel since 1967.
