Two Palestinians were seriously injured during a police chase after their suspected stolen vehicle on Route 5 near Rosh Ha'Ein this morning (Tuesday). Two others were slightly to moderately injured.
The treatment of the wounded involved extracting them from the vehicles.
The road is closed to traffic.
MDA personnel, senior medics Matan Gida and Shanir Hala and paramedics Elad Polak and Eyal Davidson, said: "We saw two crushed vehicles on the interchange.
Three passengers, men in their thirties, were trapped in one of them.
An unconscious man was pulled from the back seat, with multiple systemic injuries.
We anesthetized and ventilated him, a passenger sitting next to the driver was rescued fully conscious and suffered bruises on his back and limbs.
"The driver of the vehicle was rescued unconscious, with a head injury and multi-system damage. We gave him life-saving medical treatment, anesthetized him and ventilated him. The driver, a man in his fifties, got out of the other vehicle, fully conscious and suffering from bruises. We gave the injured people life-saving first aid in the field while extricating them from the vehicle , and after a complex and lengthy rescue, we evacuated them to the hospital in ambulances and MDA intensive care vehicles, with the condition of two serious, one moderate, and the driver of the other vehicle in a mild to moderate condition."
