Cologne – TV chef Roland Trettl has been pairing up lonely singles in his restaurant since 2018.

A picture reporter has now crept in as a candidate and is now revealing some spicy set secrets.

For example, the restaurant is purely a film set and the guests are extras.

Former "First Date" contestant reveals: Vox bans singles from talking about politics on a date

In "First Dates", singles meet on a blind date in Roland Trettl's restaurant.

For the first small talk we go to the bar, later the lovebirds are led to a restaurant table.

Depending on how the dinner goes, the singles can decide whether they want to have a second date, but then without a TV camera.

The conversations are not scripted, but you get "advice from the production about which topics you could talk about if there is an awkward silence at the table," said the picture reporter and former "First Dates" candidate.

Politics is an absolute no-go.

“The production points out that the topic should be kept out of the conversations.

Because the top priority is to pick up the viewer and take him into a fluffy situation that is not about coalitions, climate protection and tax concepts," he continues.

Did you know: Barbara Schöneberger was also on “First Dates”

As "Doris", Barbara Schöneberger made "First Dates" bartender Nic incandescent on "Understand you fun".

Because the alleged "First Dates" candidate is less interested in her actual date and much more in Nic.

However, he didn't find the whole situation that funny.

He reveals to RTL: "When Doris dug into me like a savage – it was just uncomfortable!"

"No real guests": "First Dates" participant reveals that the show is completely fake

Unfortunately, if you wanted to reserve a table in Roland Trettl's restaurant, your chances were very bad.

Because the restaurant is not open to the public.

“They do cook in it, but the guests who are in the restaurant are extras or participants who are part of the production.

There are NO real guests who "just like that" feast here," says the "First Dates" candidate.

The building is a former warehouse in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.

"There are large lights everywhere on the ceiling - you can't see the cameras, they are placed very discreetly".

Speaking of Roland Trettl: Roland Trettl and his Dani went through life together for twelve years - now it's all over.

Fans of the "First Dates" host didn't see the breakup coming and are as shocked as they are sad.
