The hopes of the winter fans were answered.
In the next few days it should snow in some regions of Bavaria.
In Franconia, white flakes came down on Monday.
Update from January 17, 9.30 a.m .:
It's finally snowing again in Bavaria!
This time not only at the edge of the Alps, where most fresh snow is expected.
The DWD expects 15 centimeters in the Alps (see first report).
The DWD is currently warning of "light snowfall" in Upper Franconia and parts of Lower Bavaria.
The official warning has been in effect since yesterday evening and is expected to last until Tuesday, 10 a.m.
It will spread smoothly.
The following counties are affected:
Kronach
court
Wunsiedel-Fichtel Mountains

Weather in Bavaria: Snow and frost characterize the next few days
First report from January 16th:
Munich – The weather in Germany has been much too warm since the beginning of the year.
The heat trend will probably continue in February as well.
But it's supposed to cool down for the next few days.
And really.
Sub-zero temperatures and snow are then in Bavaria.
"Winter is coming back," writes the German Weather Service (DWD) in its latest forecast.
"At least in parts of Germany".
The reason is the low "Gero" (internationally it is called Gerard).
The low brings us cool air, which lowers the snow line.
First at 600 meters, then at 300 to 400 meters.
"Later also down to the lowlands," according to the DWD.
The white flakes will probably not stay there just yet.
The ground is still too warm.
In Bavaria, the Alpine region in particular can look forward to a blanket of fresh snow.

There you can also trudge through the deep snow, because according to the DWD up to 15 centimeters of fresh snow can be expected.
Winter sports fans are finally getting their money's worth again and snow hikes are also possible in the next few days.
"Geros" cool air also causes the temperatures to drop, on Thursday the maximum temperatures in Bavaria are only 1 to 2 degrees.
The Franconians could already look forward to white snowflakes on Monday (January 16).
In the district of Ansbach, a lot came from heaven.
The next few hours will show whether the snow will ultimately stay put.
Even in Munich, according to current forecasts, snowflakes will fall from the sky.

Snow-deep “Gero” brings slippery roads
The DWD therefore warns of frost in the morning.
On Tuesday from midnight to 8 a.m. there will be "light frost" at -2 degrees.
It's getting slippery on the roads, "due to slush or freezing wet weather".
Drivers should therefore pay close attention.
Meteorologist Dominik Jung from
wetter.net
sees the winter comeback as just a pathetic attempt.
"Instead of masses of snow, a few snowflakes and night frost," he comments on the weather forecast for the next few days.
But at least the winter will try again.
At least the snow cannons can run at full speed in the cooler temperatures in the winter sports resorts.
"A cold consolation".
