As of 5:20 a.m. yesterday, a similar taxi robbery occurred on Fa Yuen Street in Mong Kok. The thief also got on the bus at Tsui Ping Village and robbed Fa Yuen Street. However, the 68-year-old female taxi driver called for help, and the robber was defeated. run away.

After receiving the report, the police launched an investigation. Yesterday, a 37-year-old man surnamed Cheng was arrested in Kwun Tong District on suspicion of robbery, attempted robbery and failure to produce identity documents.

The suspect reported that he was unemployed, and police believe he committed the crime alone with no accomplices.

He is still detained at the police station for investigation.

Yuan Baiying said that robbery is a serious crime, and once convicted, the maximum penalty is life imprisonment.

One of the robberies happened on Sunday (15th) at about 8:00 am. A taxi picked up a man at the roundabout of Tsui Ping South Village in Kwun Tong to Mong Kok.

The driver was not injured and called the police after the thief left.
