In the coming months, TF1 will broadcast the twelfth edition of the singing competition presented by Nikos Aliagas with Bigflo and Oli, Amel Bent, Vianney but also Zazie as coaches.

“A buzz and life changes

,” summarizes Matthieu Grelier, program director at ITV Studio.

This Tuesday, January 17 from the Studio du Lendit (Saint-Denis), location of the filming of “The Voice”, a press conference was organized to present the twelfth season of TF1’s musical telecrochet.

A new edition that promises to be rich in novelties and twists, starting with the composition of the jury.

After an unchanged quartet for two years, a new band of coaches is forming.

Unprecedented in the history of the show, a duo joins the red seats.

The rappers Bigflo and Oli, already jurors in 2017 of the Belgian version, will be alongside Amel Bent and Vianney.

After two years of absence, Zazie resumes her role as a musical mentor.

In front of them, 102 participants, 90% of whom were amateurs, tried their luck on the stage of “The Voice”.

"Ordinary people with extraordinary voices"

, describes the production of the show which received nearly 50,000 applications this year.

To support his words, Matthieu Grelier cites a non-exhaustive list of artists discovered in telecrochet: Gjon's Tears, Amir, Slimane, Mentissa, Kendji Girac or even Claudio Capéo...

A world first

This year, the teams had no shortage of ideas for renewing themselves.

In addition to the double red armchair for Bigflo and Oli, nicknamed by artistic director Pascal Guix

“the two-headed dragon”

, a new rule has been introduced.

The

"super block"

arrives in "The Voice".

This great world first, all versions combined, allows a coach to block one of his counterparts during the audition but also during the debriefing against the talent.

To go even further, the artist

“victim”

of the super block will see his chair turn mechanically with his back to the stage.

An innovation that promises some twists.

"Why not the return of a fifth coach in the coming seasons"

Pascal Guix returns to the role of Nolwenn Leroy in the previous edition of "The Voice"

Each coach selects fourteen candidates in his team.

“An instruction that was not necessarily followed”

, as Pascal Guix points out.

The selected ones will face each other during the Battles but this mythical event is upset.

Unlike previous seasons, the duel's organizing coach will no longer be installed alongside the other members of the jury but in

"total immersion at the center of the stage

".

A novelty that deeply disturbed the jurors.

"We have less distance, it will create emotionally stressful tension,"

says Vianney.

For his part, Amel Bent supports the words of his sidekick.

"We understand the importance of the look, it disrupted my habits as a coach"

, she underlines.

Before the live performances, the talents will have to pass two other stages, now classics of the show.

The Cross Battles where the public, made up of 201 people equipped with boxes, will choose their favorite candidates.

“At that time, everything escaped us

,” says Pascal Guix.

Finally, the final selection via the Super Cross Battles will be tinged with something new.

A super coach, whose identity remains secret, will be invited on set to help the public in their choice.

Exit the role of the fifth coach, held by Nolwenn Leroy last season but the production does not exclude a return of this concept in

"the next seasons"

.

Halfway through the filming of this new season, the twelfth season of "The Voice" should be broadcast on TF1 in the coming months.

This morning, the five coaches, Nikos Aliagas and the production of the program were pleased with the level of the artists as well as

the "family spirit"

that had been established.
