The gun was recovered, according to police, who are still investigating.

The death comes a week after a six-year-old boy from Newport News, Virginia, took a gun from home, brought it to school and shot his teacher.

The boy shot 25-year-old Abigail Zwerner in the chest, who was seriously wounded and remains stable.
