The oldest woman in the world, Sister Andre, died today (Tuesday), at the age of 118. The nun, who was born as Lucille Rendon, passed away in the nursing home where she lived in France.
Rendon, born February 11, 1904, was blind and confined to a wheelchair.
In 1944, she received the name "Sister Andre".
According to the Gerontology Research Group (GRG), was the oldest woman in the world.
In 2021 she recovered from Corona, days before her 117th birthday.

On January 16, 2021, she was diagnosed with the corona virus in her nursing home in the city of Toulon in the south of France.
She was separated from the rest of the residents, but did not develop any symptoms and recovered.
She told local media that she "didn't even realize" she had contracted the virus.
When asked if she was scared when she learned she had contracted the virus, Rendon told French TV channel BFM, "No, I wasn't scared because I'm not scared of dying."
She continued, "I am happy to be with you, but I would like to be somewhere else, to join my older brother and my grandparents."
