The Railway Construction Company has completed the maintenance and rehabilitation of the 101-meter-long Al-Razza Metal Bridge in the town of Qamhana, Hama Governorate, which was subjected to acts of vandalism as a result of terrorism.
The general manager of the company, Eng. Muhammad Ismail al-Omar, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the maintenance work included strengthening the body of the bridge and maintaining the pillars, quarters of cones and mobile metal support devices, stressing the importance of the bridge because it connects the railway from Hama towards Aleppo, which is an extension of the Damascus-Aleppo line, and constitutes the crossing point over Orontes River.
Al-Omar pointed out that the bridge, which is 106 meters long and 6 meters wide, was put into service after the completion of its maintenance work, which cost about 200 million Syrian pounds and took about 3 months.
Al-Omar indicated that the company continues to complete many works in several governorates, as the railway linking Akkari station in Homs, to Tartous, with a length of 50 km, was re-maintained and the beams were replaced, in addition to the installation of a prefabricated concrete fence at the Al-Qadam train station in Damascus.
Al-Omar indicated that work is continuing on the production of prefabricated and stressed concrete columns in Aleppo governorate, according to the needs of the electricity and energy transmission companies, as well as work on the production of concrete beams (B70) in Homs governorate.
