On Friday, January 25, 1997, Eva Götz drove to her parents in Landau in the Palatinate, on Sunday evening the young woman took the train back to Freiburg.

As the ZDF broadcast announced in the run-up to the TV show, Eva Götz met a young man on the journey between Landau and Karlsruhe, who got off in Karlsruhe.

At 9:08 p.m., she then switched to the IC503 in the direction of Freiburg and was probably on her way to her shared student flat at her destination.

Residents heard screams, student found dead on country road shortly thereafter

In the Stefan-Meier-Straße, residents are said to have heard screams around 9:15 p.m. that a light-beige, older van had been noticed.

This is said to have returned again and again from 4 p.m. in the afternoon.

A similar car is said to have been noticed in the Tuttlingen district from 11 p.m., most recently at around 2.30 a.m. on a dirt road.

The body of 26-year-old Eva Götz was found on January 27, 1997 on a country road near Leipferdingen in the Tuttlingen district.

According to the Rottweil public prosecutor, the student was probably dragged into a car on her way home in Freiburg, in which she may have been killed.

There is still no trace of the perpetrator.

Now the detectives are hoping for new clues about the crime or possible other victims.
