The man left the road with the truck on Monday, January 16 and crashed into a tree, the police said.
First responders failed to free the man from the burning wreckage.
The police initially gave no information on the identity of the victim.
It was also unclear why the driver left the road.
"The cab of the vehicle immediately caught fire and the driver was trapped in the cab.
I myself saw the column of smoke from several kilometers away.
So it really burned,” quotes Vifogra Christian Linden, Head of the Schrobenhausen Police Inspectorate.

First responders try in vain to rescue truck drivers after an accident
"By the time our colleagues and the fire brigade arrived, the vehicle was already fully engulfed in flames.
We then met first responders who tried to free the driver from the vehicle.
But that was no longer possible due to the large impact of the flames," Linden is quoted as saying by the portal.
The fire brigade had to extinguish the burning truck first.
After that, the rescue service could only determine the death of the man.

It is impressive for them and yet a feeling of helplessness when you can no longer help in the case," Linden continues - a stressful situation: "Afterwards, we will then have discussions at the office.
One of my tasks is to follow up with my colleagues to see if any mental stress has occurred.”
