After New York and Montreal in 2022,

Delta Airlines

has announced the opening of a daily service with Atlanta this year.

Or rather, a reopening, since Nice had already been connected to the capital of the State of Georgia.

On Saturday, May 13 at 11 a.m., a Boeing 767-400 will take off from the Nice tarmacs heading for Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta.

“It opens up all of the United States, all of North America and even beyond, South America

, rejoiced on

BFM Nice Côte d'Azur

Franck Goldnadel, the president of the management board of Nice airport.

This shows that our territory is attractive and of great interest to airlines.”

The connection with Atlanta should in particular open up new economic opportunities, as many large American companies are located there.

Miami in talks

This also confirms the airport's desire to strengthen its connectivity across the Atlantic in order to recreate a tourist dynamic.

The interruption of connections with Russia and Ukraine must be compensated by these frequent lines.

“The strategy of quality and not mass tourism is confirmed

,” adds Aymeric Staub, communication manager at Nice airport.

In addition to the return of the largest bird in the world to the Nice runways, the A380, on June 1 with the

flight to Dubai, tourism professionals from the Côte d'Azur and airport services are working on the opening of new direct lines with Nice, in particular in the United States.

A flight to Miami is under discussion for the 60th anniversary of the twinning between the two cities.

The full summer program will be unveiled on March 27.
