Invited this Tuesday on Europe 1, the boss of the LR senators conditioned his vote on the immigration bill, expected in March in Parliament.

Gérald Darmanin will still have to harden his copy on immigration if he wants to win the Republican vote.

“Illegal immigrants who enter France must know that they will never be able to claim regularization”

, hammered Bruno Retailleau, guest this Tuesday on Europe 1. Claiming

“a principle of zero regularization”

, the boss of senators LR has also asked the Minister of the Interior

"to restore illegal residence which had been abolished by François Hollande"

.

Without these conditions, the latter will not vote for a text which

“will open the floodgates of immigration even more

”.

While the bill is expected in Parliament in March, the executive – devoid of allies – does not currently have the majority to pass its text.

Carried by the former mayor of Tourcoing and the Minister of Labour, Olivier Dussopt, this provides for the creation of a residence permit for "

short-term occupations

", allowing the regularization of illegal workers in these sectors.

"Rejected asylum seekers will be able to hold on to this famous residence permit

", pointed out the senator from Vendée, considering that

"all professions are in tension"

.

"This year in France, we will still have a record on asylum applications that explode

," lamented the finalist for the LR presidency.

And to conclude, annoyed:

“We have been looking for compromises on immigration for 30 years.

This law would be, if passed, the 22nd of its kind.
