SEK police officers equipped with protective shields and assault rifles stormed the Café Central, formerly Mocca, on Grafinger Marktplatz on Tuesday afternoon.

SEK police officers equipped with protective shields and assault rifles stormed the Café Central, formerly Mocca, on Grafinger Marktplatz on Tuesday afternoon.

Grafing

– There was a basic nervousness all over the city: umpteen police cars, marked and in civilian clothes in the town center and on the access roads, the rescue service on alert.

Around a dozen young men in torn jeans and hoodies stand around the market square and observe the surroundings.

You only see the service weapons at second glance.

The police did not say whether there were any injuries during the operation.

In general: The officials on site and in the participating bureaus stonewall: When asked several times, there is no word on the reason for the large-scale operation.

"It was like on TV," says one shop owner.

Officials first observed the building and then stormed it.

The Ebersberger Zeitung sees people being searched, a sniffer dog and blue-gloved civilians combing terraces and rooms.

A spade lies on the ground in front of the bar.

Are the officials looking for something?

"We've already found it," says one.

Passer-by: "Everyone knew that this was a drug hub"

For a passer-by who observes the operation for a while, the background is not a mystery.

"Everyone in Grafing knew that this was a drug hub," he says of the restaurant.

"Except for the police, at least until today, it looks like," he adds.

What got around in Grafing at the same time as the mission: There is said to be a direct connection with the SEK mission in Lorenzenberg near Aßling.

And allegedly it's not just about drugs, but also about weapons, according to the city.

These are all unconfirmed speculations that are brought to the development cooperation with surprising congruence from very different directions.

The officials no longer provide information to the public on Tuesday, January 17th.

At least one person is arrested

The Grafinger operation is accompanied by at least one arrest: the bystanders witness a bearded man being taken away in a civilian vehicle.

Meanwhile, the accused from Lorenzenberg is apparently free again – here, too, the police had only confirmed the operation, but no arrest.

All parties involved are presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
