Designer sneakers, luxury clothes, a refrigerator full of food, restaurant receipts, pills to enhance sexual performance, condoms are some of the things found in the house used by the boss Messina Denaro and discovered by the carabinieri during the night in the center of Campobello di Mazara.
The house was registered in the name of Andrea Bonafede, the surveyor who would have lent his identity to the godfather and who is now under investigation.
At the moment it does not appear that there were particular documents in the building, so much so that the investigators suspect that there may be a second building in which to look for the so-called treasure of Messina Denaro.
"Matteo Messina Denaro had lived here for at least six months. A well-renovated apartment, which testifies that the fugitive's economic conditions were good. Refined furnishings, of a certain standard,
not of luxury but of appreciable economic level" says the provincial commander of the carabinieri of Trapani Fabio Bottino, after the inspection in the hideout. "Searchs and investigations are underway.
We are detecting the presence of biological traces, of any hiding places or cavities where documentation may have been hidden.
A job that will take days," he added.
