During his first mandate, the Head of State had to take note of his inability to bring to fruition his triple project of reducing the number of parliamentarians by a third, limiting terms of office, and establishing a share proportional to the legislative ones.
During his re-election campaign, he put the subject back on the table.
But without going into detail.
More by stating a method than by revealing a project.
He had thus promised the establishment of a cross-party commission.
Since his re-election, however, little has been heard of the project.
But Emmanuel Macron does not give up.
Without waiting for the end of the retreat sequence, he revives the subject.
Certainly with caution.
As one of his relatives confided, “
he wants to taste the water before diving
”.
