A 4-year-old girl was riding a scooter on a street in Jerusalem today (Tuesday), fell onto the road - and was hit by a bus, which arrived a few seconds before the girl collided with it.
According to the records, the girl was riding without adult supervision.
A passerby who was present at the scene noticed what was happening and picked up the girl, who was lying on the road.
The girl was referred for medical treatment, and her condition is now described as mild.
The event took place on Ali HaCohen Street, in an ultra-orthodox neighborhood in northern Jerusalem.
Medical teams of the Jerusalem District Rescue Union were called to the scene and provided first aid to the girl.
At first her condition was defined as moderate, but she was treated at Shaare Zedek Hospital in the city.
"I gave the girl first aid at the scene of the accident," said Avraham Vogel, a medic from the Ihud Hatzla.
Arashi Loker, a MDA rescue team volunteer, added that the girl suffered a severe head injury. "With the help of other MDA paramedics and medics and the rescue team, we gave her initial medical aid that included immobilization and dressings, after which the MDA ATN team."
