The questioned president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Monday from Caracas that the Venezuelan ambassador to Colombia, Félix Plasencia, left office and now "joins 100% of the tasks" of executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP).
"We will designate a new ambassador or a new ambassador, we are evaluating," Maduro said after a meeting with government officials.
Plasencia said on Twitter that he reiterates his "strict adherence" to the lines of work entrusted by Maduro.

On the other hand, the Colombian ambassador in Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, regretted the announcement.
“It is with sadness that I receive the news that Ambassador Félix Plasencia is leaving to assume his role as executive secretary of ALBA.
I would have liked him to continue in my country, ”he wrote on Twitter.
“It will take his preparation, intelligence and the good person he is.
I know that others in their new destination will win, ”he added.
