Opinion | UNAM rector did not want to make the political decision to withdraw Minister Esquivel's title, says Jorge Castañeda

The Ministry of Public Education of Mexico and the National Autonomous University of Mexico say they are not legally empowered to invalidate the title and professional license of the Minister of the Supreme Court of Mexico, Yazmín Esquivel, after university authorities confirmed that there was plagiarism in his thesis that he presented in 1987. The president of Mexico says that the rector of UNAM is evading his responsibility.
