Since January 1, 2023, it is expected that detainees will benefit, as of right, from release under duress.
They can therefore automatically leave prison, three months before the end of their sentence, provided they have been sentenced to less than two years in prison and have accommodation.
The only exceptions to the rule are those convicted of domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, offenses against minors under the age of 15, or persons responsible for public order.
And in the absence of disciplinary misconduct in detention.
All individuals who have received a prison sentence for drug trafficking, theft, violence - including with weapons or in a meeting or both - are therefore concerned.
