Rat problem at Munich Central Station?
A video shows countless animals roaming the open road in broad daylight.
Munich – The Munich Central Station should appear in new splendor.
However, it could still take some time for the project to be completed, and work on the hub could only be completed in the early 2030s.
Until then, the area around the station will be a major construction site, which will bring with it the usual side effects such as disruption to traffic.
As it seems, however, another problem is now spreading, which of course nobody can want in this form: Countless rats are cavorting at the former station building between Arnulfstraße and the station square - a corresponding video was sent to our editorial team.
Video shows extent: rats cavort at Munich Central Station - in broad daylight
“I was walking in the basement of the train station and then took the Luisenstrasse staircase to get onto the street,” the reader tells us.
"I then saw around 15 rats on the sidewalk, running back and forth along the site fence, but also a good one or two meters in front of it."
The video confirms what our editorial team has been told: Countless rodents are scurrying about on the sidewalk and don't seem to be bothered much.

Rat plague at Munich Central Station?
Video shows disturbing scenes
Remarkably, the video was taken in broad daylight, specifically around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday 14 January.
"I've never seen such a number of rats in one place in the middle of a city center," the reader-reporter continues.
It is not possible to say whether the accumulation of rats is a one-time snapshot or whether there is a real problem.
