Entrepreneurs from the supermarket sector expressed their rejection of the Government's decision to ask trade unionists and piqueteros to assist in monitoring compliance with the "Fair Prices" program, and
warned that they could get out of it
if this initiative continues forward.
Who set off the alarm was
Víctor Palpacelli
, head of the
Argentine Federation of Supermarkets.
It was in an interview with CNN Radio, where he warned of the rejection caused by the measure among his colleagues.
"We view it with concern, due to the simple fact that
These situations
remove the possibility of different regional chains joining the program
.
On the contrary, those who are added could get off because they are discouraged by this type of situation to which they expose us," said the referent.
"We want to accompany, but obviously
the security of the supply of the merchandise
from the industry is needed," he said.
Palpacelli also denied that the sector is collecting merchandise.
"Far from our part is the intention to hoard and not sell," he added.
This Monday, Pablo Moyano had affirmed that
the Government had asked them for "a collaboration"
to be able to check that the supermarket chains send the products to the gondolas.
"We have spoken with (the Minister of Economy, Sergio) Massa and (the Secretary of Commerce, Matías) Tombolini, and they asked us for a collaboration to go to the distribution centers of the large supermarkets. In that are Coto, Carrefour, Día %, Chango Más, and several more where unfortunately it was seen that the merchandise did not reach the gondolas.
For example, 10 trucks of each product left, arrived at the supermarkets and filled two or three gondolas
, "Moyano made official.
"Our task is to denounce the Secretary of Commerce if there are missing products, and what those products are. Our union has always been in solidarity with the State.
This is a collaboration of truckers, as the colleagues of Commerce and Food are doing
. Nothing else," he added.
This request caused the rejection of the business sector and part of the political leadership.
During Monday afternoon,
Elisa Carrió filed a criminal complaint
against President Alberto Fernández, Massa and Tombolini, for the Government's decision to add truckers and piqueteros to price controls.
From that Carrió announcement,
truckers suspended some visits
that they had planned for this week.
"The criminal complaint of (Elisa) Carrió to officials hit," an executive from the sector interpreted
Clarín
.
The Truckers union, which already visited the distribution centers of Coto, Carrefour and Cencosud last week, had announced that it would go to Changomas (formerly Walmart) yesterday.
But that didn't happen.
Truckers also informed -informally- two large mass consumption companies that it would not go to their plants.
These are companies that have a lot of ties to that union.
"Not these days, maybe later," heard an executive from a multinational.
