In its weekly session today, chaired by Eng. Hussein Arnous, the Council of Ministers instructed the concerned authorities to strictly monitor markets and transportation fees, control the prices of various materials, and take legal measures against violators, after increasing the quantities of oil derivatives distributed and regular supplies, stressing the increase in the distribution of diesel for heating, ovens, hospitals and agriculture. The Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to prepare a clear and integrated plan to start projects that provide housing with suitable areas starting from 40 square meters for an apartment and up to 55 square meters, provided that loans and facilities are provided to subscribers and activating residential areas within the organizational plans of the industrial cities.

The Council of Ministers indicated that it dealt positively with the proposals of the members of the People's Assembly, scrutinized all the issues raised and took the necessary measures to address them, and asked the Ministry of Electricity to be strict in achieving justice in distributing electricity and reviewing the reality of the lines exempt from rationing, to ensure that they adhere to the specified standards.

In addition, the Council conducted a follow-up to the agricultural production plan for the winter agricultural season 2022-2023, and stressed in another context the importance of following up the completion of digital transformation projects and aligning them with the determinants and standards related to the creation of the National Register for the Classification of Economic Activities, with the need to continue expanding the circle of electronic payment services to include various sectors, and follow up securing necessary logistical infrastructure.

The Council approved the results and recommendations of the Creative Industries Conference, which was held in Damascus during December 2022, with the aim of employing these industries, to be one of the levers of the national economy and balanced and sustainable development.

The Council discussed a draft legislative instrument for exemption from fines for late payment of irrigation fees, rent allowances, and similar fees for state-owned real estate, with the aim of revitalizing the agricultural sector and enhancing its role in economic development. Applying international agreements in this field.

The council emphasized giving priority to basic materials when granting import licenses and according to market needs, and asked some ministries to submit qualitative notes on their work in the current year for discussion in upcoming meetings.

The Council stressed the speedy implementation of the work of Khazna Hospital in Tartous and put it into service as soon as possible, and approved a number of service and development projects in the governorates.
