A 50-year-old man died tonight (Tuesday) after he went fishing on the shores of Eilat, near the marina, apparently following a medical incident.
The man went fishing with his friend, when suddenly the boat began to fill with water.
The two tried to empty the species from the boat and move it, but after failing they jumped off it and started swimming towards the shore, which was about 400 meters away.
A few meters after they started swimming, the man said to his friend: "I'm running out of air."
The friend tried to pull him out of the water, and when he reached the dock he hurried to call for help.
The marine police arrived at the scene and towed the boat to shore and assisted in rescuing the man.
