After a far too mild start to the new year, the temperatures are adapting to the current season and are bringing widespread frost and snow with them.
At first the weather forecasts were still cautious in terms of snow, now it seems that a lot is coming from the sky with a view to the weekend.
Weather expert Dominik Jung even speaks of a "snow chaos" that will reach large parts of Germany.

According to Jung, the “snow chaos” reached large parts of Franconia as early as the night of Wednesday, January 18th.
In cities like Würzburg or Bamberg, up to ten centimeters of fresh snow fell.
In Munich there can be no talk of it, the state capital has only reached frosty temperatures so far, the maximum values are just under three degrees on Wednesday.
Permafrost will then set in towards the weekend, which could bring temperatures down to minus six degrees at night, as current forecasts from

From Thursday, January 19th, the first snow signals will also appear for Munich, which - as of now - will pop up again and again throughout the weekend.
As Jung explains, the total amount of snow in Munich on Sunday evening could then be almost six centimeters.
At the edge of the Alps, 15-20 centimeters are even possible.
So winter sports fans can be happy after the past few weeks with almost spring-like temperatures put a damper on skiing and cross-country skiing plans.
As the long-term models show, there are currently few signs of a renewed mild phase.
So winter is coming back and seems to want to stay for now.
