A 13-year-old girl starred in a police chase in Nebraska on Monday night when she drove a car on a highway at more than 100 miles per hour, carrying a passenger under the age of 11, according to local authorities, who managed to stop her after follow it at full speed for more than 15 minutes.

State troopers spotted a Nissan Pathfinder traveling at 35 miles per hour on Interstate 80 near the town of Kearney and tried to pull over traffic, they said in a news release.

The young woman sped off, according to officers, fleeing "at high speed."

The authorities used brake bars but the teenager left the highway and followed her escape on another road at a lower speed.

"Shortly after, the police officer was able to successfully carry out a tactical intervention to stop the vehicle," explained the Patrol.

Thus, after 16 minutes of persecution, the adolescent and the boy were arrested, although it has not yet been reported if they will face criminal charges.
