A memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Culture and the Revolutionary Youth Union to organize joint cultural cooperation

Today, the Ministry of Culture and the Revolutionary Youth Union signed a memorandum of understanding to organize cooperation and coordination in the implementation of cultural projects and activities.

The memorandum of understanding included areas of cooperation by benefiting from the capabilities available to both sides, in implementing cultural activity projects and coordinating with the applied arts centers affiliated with the Ministry, to organize joint programs, and to benefit from the cultural centers in the governorates by the cultural youth branches and provide

Psychological support and implementation of vocational training programs and capacity building of young people to consolidate the national culture, through artistic, creative and professional activities.

The memorandum also included holding workshops, competitions, matches, seminars, forums and cultural celebrations, in addition to cooperation in implementing programs aimed at raising awareness in local communities of the importance of literature, arts, and the values ​​of tangible and intangible heritage. In addition, the memorandum included the exchange of studies.

And statistics and experiences related to projects related to activities of common interest, provided that the ministry contributes to supporting the union’s libraries with publications of the books of the Syrian General Book Authority.

Minister of Culture, Dr. Labana Mashouh, explained in a statement to reporters the importance of the memorandum, given that the two sides are concerned with spreading culture, raising taste, developing thought, nurturing and embracing talent, and spreading culture and awareness among youth and adolescents.

Mashouh said: The Youth Union can benefit from all the cultural centers located throughout Syria, and we have the ability to seek the help of its youth cadres in volunteer work for our programs and plans, such as awareness reading, capacity development and building.

The head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Sumer Faisal Daher, pointed out the importance of signing the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Culture, stressing the endeavor to reach the peak of work with the ministry, due to its great importance with regard to the educational issue of the youth stage, which is among the organization's action plans.
